Terms of Service

Effective date: April 18, 2026 · Last updated: April 18, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using OBOX ("the app," "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you and OBOX ("we," "us," "our"). This agreement is between you and OBOX only, and not with Apple Inc. OBOX, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.

2. Description of Service

OBOX is a networking platform for discovering and attending real-world events, joining organizations, and connecting with other people. We provide tools for event hosting, ticketing, messaging, and community management. Event tickets purchased through OBOX are for physical, in-person events at real-world venues.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use OBOX. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 16 years of age and that you have not been previously banned from the Service.

4. Account Registration

You must create an account to use OBOX. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You may not create fake accounts or impersonate others.

5. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on any Apple device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This license does not allow you to use the app on any device that you do not own or control, except that the app may be accessed by other accounts associated with your Apple ID via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.

6. Content Standards & User Conduct

OBOX has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. By using the Service, you agree not to post, send, or share content that:

  • Is harassing, bullying, threatening, or intimidating toward any person
  • Contains hate speech, discrimination, or promotes violence against any individual or group
  • Is sexually explicit, obscene, or pornographic
  • Is defamatory, libelous, or fraudulent
  • Infringes on the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
  • Contains illegal content or promotes illegal activities
  • Is spam, phishing, or commercial solicitation
  • Impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity
  • Shares personal information of another person without their consent

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards and to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that engage in abusive behavior, without prior notice.

7. Reporting & Blocking

We provide mechanisms to keep the community safe:

  • Report a user: Tap the "..." menu on any user's profile and select "Report User."
  • Report a message: Long-press on any message in a chat and select "Report Message."
  • Block a user: Tap the "..." menu on any user's profile and select "Block User." Blocked users cannot message you or see your profile.

We review all reports and take action within one business day. Actions may include content removal, account warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination depending on severity. If you need immediate assistance, contact support@obox.app.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create and post on OBOX (profile information, photos, messages, event descriptions). By posting content, you grant OBOX a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating and providing the platform. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. You represent that you have all necessary rights to the content you upload and that it does not violate these Terms or any applicable law.

9. Events & Tickets

Event hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their event information and for fulfilling their obligations to attendees. OBOX facilitates ticket sales for physical, in-person events but is not the event organizer. Ticket purchases are for admission to real-world events at physical venues.

Refund policies are set by individual event hosts. Disputes regarding event cancellations, venue changes, or refunds should be directed to the event host first. If you cannot resolve a dispute with the host, contact us at support@obox.app.

10. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's Consumer Terms. All ticket prices are displayed before purchase. OBOX does not store your payment card information — it is handled entirely by Stripe.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings > Delete Account). Upon deletion:

  • Your profile is anonymized immediately (name, bio, photo, and social links are removed)
  • All personal data is permanently purged within 30 days
  • Messages you sent may remain visible to recipients under the name "Deleted User"
  • Financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law

12. Account Termination by OBOX

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. If your account is terminated for a Terms violation, you may not create a new account. We may also remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

13. Privacy

Your use of OBOX is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. The Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data.

14. Intellectual Property

The OBOX name, logo, and app design are the property of OBOX. You may not use our trademarks without prior written permission. OBOX is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any intellectual property infringement claims related to the app.

15. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and we are not liable for any service interruptions or data loss.

If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OBOX shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid to OBOX in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold OBOX harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

18. Maintenance and Support

OBOX is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the app. For support, contact support@obox.app.

19. Legal Compliance

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

20. Third-Party Terms

When using the app, you must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement (for example, your wireless data service agreement). You acknowledge that Stripe's terms govern payment processing and Apple's terms govern the distribution of the app.

21. Third-Party Beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple's subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

22. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which OBOX operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions. If you are an EU consumer, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of consumer protection law in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

23. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
